As the director of programs for Kessben media and the general manager of Kessben outreach Foundation, I led a delegation to Appiatse where the unfortunate disaster occurred. On behalf of the CEO of Kessben group, we presented relief items worth hundred thousand plus and cash of fifty thousand.
We were warmly received by the MCE of the area, the chief n the NADMO head who couldn’t hide their appreciation though in grief.
My dear friends , the real pictures on the ground is far worst than we had heard or seen. Not a single house was spared. Personally I walked through the rubble counting more than 500 households which is just about half the township. If each house had even an average of three persons u can tell how many people have been affected and left empty handed. I am appealing to everyone….n especially corporate Ghana to reach out to our families there. This could have happened anywhere because remember we do not manufacture explosive in Ghana. These explosives go through Tema, Accra, Cape Coast, Tardi, Kumasi on daily bases.
There have been three baby deliveries in two days, These are the very pressing needs the authorities are asking for; baby food, toiletries, sanitary pads, building materials.
Let’s all rally and support these victims.
I will sign off by thanking Mr KESSE and Maa Fosuaa the Supreme architect for their swift response, Mr Aninkorah the GM Kessben media and the entire team, and the foundation team. ….. Indeed little acts of kindness. May we not witness such an incident again.
